The «Arkadag» footballers made a strong bid to reach the final of the 2025 Turkmenistan Cup by defeating the «Ashgabat» team 3:1 in the first semi-final match.
The game took place in the capital at the «Nisa» stadium.
On the way to the semi-finals, «Arkadag» beat «Nebitchi» twice – 6:0 at home and 3:1 away, while «Ashgabat» knocked out the eight-time former champion of Turkmenistan, «Altyn Asyr», by beating them twice – 2:1 on their field and 3:2 on their own.
The visiting team had a clear advantage in the semifinal match, with goals scored by Ylyas Charyyev (23rd minute), Begench Akmammedov (42nd), and Diyargylych Orazov (59th). Begmyrat Pirgulyyev scored for the home team in the 38th minute, a penalty.
The return match will take place on the 18th of December at «Arkadag», which won the Turkmenistan championship for the third year in a row this year and the Super Cup of the country for the second time. Now, it is confidently making its way to the finals for the second-most prestigious national club trophy, the Turkmenistan Cup.
For «Arkadag», the recent match against «Ashgabat» was a good test of strength before their away game in the 5th round of the AFC-2 Champions League against «Andijan» of Uzbekistan, which will take place on the 26th of November at the «Bobur Arena».
