OUR NATIONAL CURRENCY — OUR ECONOMIC STRENGTH

One of the main symbols that strengthens the independence of every state and reflects its national identity is its own currency. After gaining Independence, our country took an important and historic step toward economic self-sufficiency by creating its national currency — the manat.

November 1, 1993, holds a special place in the history of our nation. On this day, the national currency of Independent, permanently Neutral Turkmenistan — the manat — was officially introduced into circulation. Since then, this significant date has been celebrated each year on November 1 with great solemnity. The national manat has become a symbol of economic independence, state interests, and national economic development.

The introduction of the manat marked the beginning of profound transformations in the country’s economic system. Major efforts were undertaken to pursue an independent economic policy, develop market relations, and ensure internal economic stability. These measures gave new impetus to development across all sectors of the national economy.

The manat stands as a guarantee of our state’s economic independence and stability. Through our national currency, the country ensures the efficiency of its financial system, modernization of the banking sector, development of the digital economy, and expansion of international financial cooperation. The national manat serves as the foundation of growth and stability in all areas of our economic system.

We express our deep gratitude to our Hero-Arkadag and Arkadagly Hero Serdar for their tireless efforts aimed at improving the living standards of our people, strengthening the economic power of our country, and elevating its international reputation!
