As is known from history, the art of embroidery of turkmen women is also one of the ancient types of handicrafts. Embroidery is the integral part of our national clothing. They embroidered and prepared them by using methods of embroidery. These skillful techniques, methods and experience were passed down from mother to daughters, from elder sisters to youngers. Thus, this ancient national decorative-applied art has reached our days. Also, turkmen national clothing is known worldwide with its attractiveness.
For thousands of years, the Turkmen people have been carrying out extensive works on collecting, studying, preserving samples of intangible cultural heritage, as well as conveying them to younger generation, using scientific and methodological, educational and instructive methods, archiving information collected from the population and creating information bases based on them.
