THE 19th OF AUGUST IS THE WORLD HUMANITARIAN DAY

World Humanitarian Day is observed annually on 19 August in accordance with the UN General Assembly resolution adopted in 2008. The main objective of this international day is to pay tribute to those who work tirelessly to help those in need and provide support to those in danger.

Each year, this international day is dedicated to a specific theme. This year's theme is “Strengthening global solidarity and empowering communities”.

Since ancient times, the Turkmen people have been characterized by the principles of peacefulness, good neighborliness and mutual humanism, which are passed down from generation to generation. One of the priorities of the foreign policy strategy of neutral Turkmenistan, initiated by the National Leader of the Turkmen people Hero-Arkadag and currently successfully implemented by the President of Turkmenistan Arkadagly Hero Serdar, is to attach special importance to humanitarian ties.

Turkmenistan makes a significant contribution to the deepening of humanitarian cooperation in the region and throughout the world. This direction is an important aspect of the development of international relations based on mutual understanding, respect and trust.
