Nature is the basis of human life. Clean air, fresh water, fertile soil, rich flora and fauna are the unshakable foundations of our existence. Since ancient times, our people have considered it a sacred duty to protect and cherish nature. Today, the protection of our beautiful nature is not only a duty, but also one of the important areas of state policy. Under the wise leadership of our Esteemed President, large-scale work is being carried out in our country to protect the environment. As part of the “green” policy of our state, mass tree planting is being carried out in the capital, Ashgabat, and in all velayats of the country. Forest zones created throughout the country not only decorate the appearance of cities, but also make a significant contribution to improving the environmental situation.
Turkmenistan’s environmental initiatives, international events aimed at saving the Aral Sea, as well as proposals put forward at the UN General Assembly on environmental policy priorities, also receive broad support at the international level. The height of our mountains, the vastness of our steppes, the full-flowing nature of our rivers, the singing of birds and the diversity of living creatures are the source of inspiration for creativity. The special place given to nature in the literature, folklore and art of the Turkmen people is also a clear indication of this.
Over the years of independence, the participation of young people in mass tree planting events, participation and success in international environmental Olympiads in our country have created excellent opportunities for the development of their environmental culture. Protecting our beautiful nature is the sacred duty of each of us. Preserving the wealth of Earth, expanding green areas, cleaning water sources and protecting living beings, conducting in-depth scientific research is the key to a happy life not only for current but also for future generations.
