On October 8, 2025, a meeting between the Ambassador of Turkmenistan and professors, teachers, as well as Turkmen and foreign students of Sunway University was held at the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Malaysia. About this reports MFA of Turkmenistan.
After a warm welcome, the Dean of the Business School of Sunway University, Distinguished Professor Lim Weng Marc, expressed his sincere gratitude on behalf of the University for organizing a meaningful meeting with the Embassy of Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, Professor Lim Weng Marc briefly described the work being done by Sunway University with foreign students. He emphasized that there are currently more than 250 students from Turkmenistan studying at the university and expressed his intention to continue cooperation aimed at increasing this number in the future.
In turn, the Turkmen side expressed gratitude to the management and staff of Sunway University for the comprehensive support provided to Turkmen students studying in Malaysia.
Particular emphasis was placed on the comprehensive support provided to Turkmen students by the Esteemed President of Turkmenistan, as well as the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, it was noted that Turkmenistan’s status of permanent neutrality has been recognized three times by the United Nations. Information was also presented on the declaration of 2025 as the International Year of Peace and Trust and on the Concept of Activities and Priorities of Turkmenistan in the framework of the Year. In this regard, special attention was paid to the hosting of a major international forum in Ashgabat in December of current year, dedicated to this significant date.
