FORUM ON CIVIL SOCIETY HELD IN THE NATIONAL TOURIST ZONE “AWAZA”

On August 4, 2025, a Forum on Civil Society was held in the National Tourist Zone “Awaza” within the framework of the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs).

The forum was attended by representatives of international organizations, the Government of Turkmenistan, relevant UN bodies, civil society, and high-level representatives of LLDCs. It served as an important platform for exchanging experience between civil society, state representatives, and the UN, promoting new initiatives, and supporting the implementation of the “Avaza Programme of Action” for landlocked developing countries. Effective implementation of the Programme requires multilateral cooperation, including the joint efforts of civil society organizations, scientific institutions, and the private sector.

The forum placed special emphasis on the role of civil society in ensuring sustainable development, its active participation in supporting legislation, political and international initiatives, as well as the importance of sharing best practices in economic and environmental fields.

The organization of this forum once again confirmed Turkmenistan’s readiness to strengthen international cooperation, expand multilateral partnerships, and consistently support the development goals of landlocked developing countries.
