THE TURKMENISTAN U17 WOMEN'S TEAM WILL START THE 2026 ASIAN CUP QUALIFICATION

19 female football players will represent the Turkmenistan national team in the 10th U17 Women's Asian Cup qualifying tournament, which begins today in Chonburi, Thailand.

As a result of the draw, the Turkmenistan team has been placed in Group «F», where it will face Thailand and Nepal.

According to the Football Federation of Turkmenistan, before the start of the qualifying tournament, the Turkmen women's football team, led by head coach Boris Borovik and his assistants Begench Garayev, Halida Eshniyazova, and Mariya Charyyeva, held a training camp in Ashgabat.

Their first match will be against Thailand, and on the 15th of October, they will face their opponents from Nepal. The qualifying tournament will conclude in Chonburi on the 17th of October  with a match between the Thai and Nepalese women's football players.

As a reminder, 27 teams, divided into eight groups, will compete for a spot in the final tournament.

The group winners will advance to the final round. In the final stage of the competition, they will join four AFC representatives – North Korea, Japan, the Republic of Korea, and China – who automatically qualified for the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup in Morocco. As a result, the final tournament, which will be held from the 30th of April to 17th of May, 2026, in China, will feature 12 teams for the first time – four more than in the previous edition.
