The annual General Assembly and board of directors meeting of the Asian Tennis Federation (ATF) took place in Almaty over four days. Representatives from 36 member countries participated in the events. Eziz Dovletov, Chairman of the Turkmenistan Tennis Federation, serves as Vice President.

The ATF General Assembly is the highest governing body of the organisation, which unites the national tennis associations of Asia. Founded in 1958, the Asian Tennis Federation is a non-profit organization and a member of the International Tennis Federation (ITF).

As reported by the FTT, the continental forum noted the rapid growth in popularity of tennis in Turkmenistan, expressed gratitude to the country's leadership for supporting the development of this popular Olympic sport, and also praised the organization of the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Level 2 regional coaching seminar, which was held in August of this year at the «Tennis Toplumy» Asian region training centre with the support of the National olympic committee and the State committee for physical culture and sports.

As a reminder, the turkmen Tennis complex's status as an Asian region training and development centre was confirmed by a certificate presented by Seyedamir Borghei, ITF Representative for Tennis Development in Asia, at a ceremony in the Ashgabat Olympic village on the 1st of June, 2024.

The ATF leadership also noted the successful performances of Turkmen tennis players in international tournaments, including the Asian Championships for U12 and U14 players, as well as in the competition for the Billie Jean King Cup.

As part of their working visit to Kazakhstan, Turkmen representatives also participated in the opening ceremony of the prestigious ATP 250 tournament in Almaty, featuring renowned athletes such as Daniil Medvedev, Karen Hachanov, and others.

As part of the tournament, an educational seminar entitled «Tennis Drives – Fitness Support» will be held in Almaty from 17th to 19th of October. Turkmen coaches will also participate in the seminar to enhance their experience and skills.

Leading International Tennis Federation experts will deliver this course: Dario Novak, a world-class fitness coach known for his work with Yelena Rybakina, Stan Wawrinka, and Holger Rune, and Hrvoje Zmajic, an ITF Level 2 and Level 3 tutor and European tennis development officer with 17 years of experience.
