In the era of the Revival of a new epoch of a powerful state, the youth of Turkmenistan strives to become worthy sons and daughters of the Motherland, responding to the grand initiatives implemented for the further prosperity of the country and a bright future, they dedicate themselves to diligent study, deep acquisition of knowledge, and mastery of professions. Studying and exploring science for the great future of our people and the flourishing Homeland is a sacred duty of the youth. The Youth Organization of Turkmenistan named after Magtymguly carries out large-scale efforts to educate the younger generation in the spirit of patriotism and integrity, to develop a broad worldview, knowledge, physical well-being, spiritual purity, and a mature way of thinking.
On 16 November 1991, a founding congress with the active participation of youth from across the country was held, during which the Youth Organization of Turkmenistan named after Magtymguly was established and its Charter was adopted.
The first congress on 12 October 1994;
The second congress on 7 April 2002;
The third congress on 7 May 2004;
The fourth congress on 3 September 2012;
The fifth congress on 6 April 2016;
The sixth congress on 11 September 2019;
The seventh congress on 1 September 2022;
The eighth congress on 28 January 2023.
To improve the activities of The Youth Organization of Turkmenistan named after Magtymguly, the following key legal and programmatic documents were adopted:
in 2022 — the new edition of the Law of Turkmenistan “On State Youth Policy”;
in 2021 — State Program in the field of State Youth policy of Turkmenistan for 2021-2025 and an Action Plan for its implementation;
and in 2023 — a revised edition of the Charter of The Youth Organization of Turkmenistan named after Magtymguly.
The Youth Organization of Turkmenistan named after Magtymguly is an independent, voluntary public association. Given that a significant portion of Turkmenistan’s population is aged between 14 and 37, the organization unites patriotic young people who freely pursue their goals, prioritize state interests, actively participate in ensuring the country's sustainable and stable development, strengthen its economic potential, and contribute to the implementation of national programs aimed at improving living conditions.
The key areas of the organization’s activity include:
Promoting among the youth the internal and foreign policy pursued by the etseemed President;
Identifying talented young people during the era of the Revival of a new epoch of a powerful state under the leadership of the esteemed President, and fostering teenagers’ interest in creativity and art;
Educating youth in the spirit of high patriotism, morality, commitment to sports and a healthy lifestyle, and respect for traditions and heritage;
Shaping a new generation during the era of the Revival of a new epoch of a powerful state that is loyal to the Homeland, healthy, educated, goal-oriented, persistent, and free from harmful habits;
Ensuring the active participation of youth in national, public, and international events in the fields of socio-economic development, science, education, culture, and the arts;
Contributing to the further strengthening of the international reputation of Turkmenistan and the Turkmen people, protecting the rights and legitimate interests of youth, and preventing offenses, alcoholism, smoking, drug addiction, and crime;
Promoting physical culture, sports, and healthy lifestyles among the population;
Supporting the professional, scientific, and creative development of the organization’s members;
Further developing the creative abilities and knowledge of young people;
Strengthening the spirit of patriotism, humanism, and unity among the youth;
Educating literate, politically aware, well-mannered, and well-rounded young individuals.
The key tasks defined by the implementation of the organization's Charter include:
Educating politically literate citizens with a strong civic stance and sense of responsibility — youth with a modern mindset, free from harmful habits, who do not place personal interests above all else, do not view life solely from a consumerist perspective, and who are diligent, confident in the future, physically and spiritually healthy true patriots of the Homeland;
Implementing the Action Plan of State Program in the field of State Youth policy of Turkmenistan for 2021-2025, adopted in 2021;
Disseminating and exchanging best practices, skills, and knowledge among members of the organization across Turkmenistan;
Ensuring the moral purity and spiritual well-being of the younger generation and promoting healthy lifestyles among youth;
Developing the organization’s information and technical base and ensuring access for its members;
Supporting the cultural, scientific, creative, and publishing activities of the members;
Organizing national and international scientific conferences, symposiums, forums, exhibitions, and meetings;
Supporting members’ participation in national and international scientific and cultural conferences, symposiums, and forums;
Providing consulting services to members and young graduates (on career guidance, employment, document preparation, issuing references, participation in scientific and educational programs), as well as offering diverse support to youth.
