Over the years of independence, Turkmenistan's relations with UNESCO have been enriched with new content.
As is known, the historical and cultural complex "Ancient Merv", the city of Koneurgench, the fortresses of Old and New Nisa of our country are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Cooperation between Turkmenistan and UNESCO is of great importance not only at the national level, but also at the global level. These relations contribute to the preservation of the common cultural heritage of mankind, strengthening mutual understanding and trust between peoples, strengthening peaceful relations in the world community, and achieving sustainable development goals.
Positive initiatives of our state aimed at preserving and popularizing historical and cultural monuments of our country, intensifying cooperation with UNESCO, have received broad support from the UN. All this is a clear evidence of the success of cultural and scientific diplomacy of our Arkadagly Hero Serdar in the interests of the triumph of the noble principles of the Turkmen people and all humanity.
