As is well known, Turkmenistan has established strong ties with many international organizations worldwide. In particular, relations with one of the largest international organizations, the United Nations, are developing. Development of cooperation with UNESCO, the UN specialized agency on education, science, and culture, is a priority of our country’s foreign policy strategy.
Many historical fortresses, cultural treasures, and historico-cultural monuments of the Turkmen people located in our country are included on the UNESCO World Heritage List. This is of great importance for the popularization of the rich cultural heritage of the Turkmen people globally. Various joint activities are also being conducted with UNESCO to realize opportunities for cooperation in education, science, ecology and sports. The active participation of Turkmen scientists in UNESCO’s ecology and sustainable development programs strengthens ties with global science. Through close cooperation between our country and UNESCO, extensive work is being done to preserve our cultural heritage and unique natural sites. These achievements, in turn, make a significant contribution to enhancing Turkmenistan’s prestige globally and advancing our country’s development.
